Light Oscillato
Three Light spheres, suspension system, motors, self made analog computer for generative programming. Slow conical pendulum motion of the suspended objects. h8-12 m
Tilen Sepič shows a kinetic light and sound sculpture is inspired by the observation and study of the fundamentals of natural processes that are based on frequencies and vibration. Orbiting motion, sine-wave frequencies, low frequency oscillations can be observed in wide range of systems: from atomic-scale to planetary movement, motion of the universe and also biological, economic and social oscillations, hidden in our everyday life.
Frequencies and oscillations are very closely related with core-production of light, which are the main mediums for expression in this installation. Nothing is pre-recorded, light patterns are generative, depending on overlapping frequencies and with external feedback from light sensors.
The installation consists of one or many light-spheres, suspended from a very long cable, rotating in slow and persistent orbit. The programmed pattern of light interfere with the slow and persistent motion of the light-spheres creating, creating unpredictable generative patterns of light.
Observation and exploration of the patterns, frequencies and vibrations, allows visitor to get in the calm meditative mood, and challenges the emotional response.
